BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!

We are super excited to announce that in April 2022 we are heading to Graceland – the home of Elvis Presley in Memphis, TN! The Academy of Music will be featured as one of 14 music schools from across the US performing April 6 & 7 at Graceland Auditorium! We have reserved 90 minutes for our students to perform with a backtrack or live teacher band on stage! Full sound, live streaming, and professional photography are all included. Talk to your teacher soon about preparing an audition recording for this once in a lifetime opportunity. Auditions will be due December 18, and we can only accept 25 students, so you will want to get started on a performance piece soon! More registration details with pricing information coming soon! WE LOVE HALLOWEEN COSTUMES!

We know some of you are already getting your Halloween costumes ready, and we can’t wait to enjoy the fun with you! As always, students are welcome to wear costumes to the studio the week before the big event – October 24-31. We’re also giving you an opportunity to join a Halloween Virtual Costume Parade. It’s easy to do – just email a costume photo any time before October 24 to info@academyofmusicGR.com, and we’ll put it together!



PLAN AHEAD –

HALLOWEEN GIVE BACK!

Our annual Halloween Give Back campaign is back this year! Plan ahead to bring us unwrapped candy, handwritten notes and drawings, or monetary donations to help cover shipping to Operation Gratitude. They will distribute the candy to military and first responders.

STAFF SPOTLIGHT

There are some new faces at the Academy of Music desk! We are pleased to introduce the following new awesome Academy staff who help us keep everything organized and running smoothly.

SUMMER GUESSING GAME WINNERS!

Congratulations to our Summer Guessing Game Winners. Brooklyn at our Jenison location guessed the number exactly! John at our Grand Rapids location shared that he created a formula and his guess was only one number off. They each won a FREE month of lessons!

WINTER RECITALS !

We are looking forward once again to featuring Academy students in our Winter Recitals. This December, we are pleased to be able to offer TWO GREAT PERFORMANCE OPTIONS:

1. An in-person recital Wealthy Theatre on December 11. Wealthy Theatre is a 400 seat auditorium, so there is lots of room to sit wherever you are comfortable. The only Theatre current covid protocol is that masks will need to be worn in the auditorium unless food or drink is being consumed. Students will not need to wear a mask on stage.
2. A Virtual Recital on a scheduled day and time featuring recorded performances. Students may record their performance at home and submit a video. Or, as a special option, we are additionally organizing a professional recording day on December 18. We’ll have the lighting, camera, and sound equipment available and will allow a maximum of 10 minutes for one student at a time to complete a recording.
