Welcome Back to the Academy!

It’s that exciting time of year again! A warm welcome back to all of our Academy families and a special welcome to our homeschool partner families, who are among the first to begin their fall lessons and classes.

We love seeing our studios fill back up as students reconnect with their teachers, return to their favorite instruments and classes, and settle into new routines.

There’s so much to look forward to this year - from lessons and new skills to performances, Musical Ladder achievements, and plenty of memorable moments along the way.

We’re so glad you’re part of the Academy family. Here’s to a wonderful year of learning, growing, and making music together!

We wish their family a lifetime of love, happiness, and many wonderful memories together. We can’t wait to see Rosie jamming away with her dad when she’s old enough!

NEW! Holiday Pop-Up Choir

Does your student love to sing? Give them the chance to be part of something special this holiday season!

We’re excited to introduce our new Holiday Pop-Up Choir for students ages 9–15—a fun, short-term opportunity to sing with other Academy students, learn holiday favorites, and share their music with others.

Over eight one-hour rehearsals, students will learn to sing together as an ensemble while building harmony, vocal blending, musicianship, and performance confidence.

And They’ll Take Their Music Into the Community!

In addition to performing at our Academy of Music Winter Recital, the choir will have opportunities to spread a little holiday cheer by performing for residents at select local senior communities.

8 Weekly Rehearsals | Begins the Week of October 12

Tuition: $100

Ages 9–15 | Limited to 12 Students

No formal audition or music-reading experience is required. Students should be comfortable matching pitch and carrying a melody. Current Academy students may participate with a teacher recommendation.

Think your student would love this? Talk to your teacher about Pop-Up Choir and register soon. With only 12 spots available, we expect this group to fill quickly!

NEW! Take the Stage: Acting & Improv

Love acting but not ready for the spotlight? Or just want more chances to get creative and have fun?

Take the Stage: Acting & Improv is our new 6-week class for ages 7–11, where students can build confidence, explore characters, think on their feet, and become stronger performers—all in a fun, low-pressure environment.

Through improv games, scene work, character development, and storytelling, students learn to make creative choices, work with others, and become more comfortable speaking and performing in front of a group.

It’s a great companion to Musical Theatre for students who want to strengthen their acting skills, but it’s just as much fun for students who simply want to explore acting without auditions, assigned roles, costumes, or a final performance.

6-WEEK COURSE | $150

Grand Rapids: Mondays | 7–8pm
Jenison: Thursdays | 6–7pm
Classes begin the week of October 12

No previous acting or Musical Theatre experience is needed, and there are no costume, materials, or performance fees.

Just come ready to create, laugh, build confidence and Take the Stage!
