In spite of the many challenges that have been part of our lives in recent months, this is the year that the Academy of Music in Grand Rapids will remember as the year we were able to to finally realize a dream to better serve families who live closer to the Jenison, Grandville, Hudsonville, and Wyoming communities.
We are super excited to announce that theJenison Academy of Music will open this fall at 7647 Riverview Dr, right in the heart of Jenisonnear the corner of Main Street and Baldwin.
We are working hard to convert the 2,000 sq ft of open space into a comfortable waiting area, front office, 9 fully stocked classrooms, two bathrooms, and a kitchenette area for coffee, tea, and water. We we can’t wait to welcome you for piano, guitar, voice, drum, or string lessons as soon as it’s ready!
Let us know if you are going to be interested in moving your lessons to the Jenison location, and we will put you on the Jenison student list. Just reply to this email or text us at 616-965-1655. Be sure to spread the word to your friends and neighbors!

ACADEMY ROCK STARS
These Academy Rock Stars are going to light up the stage at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, OH on Saturday, September 5! We can’t wait to enjoy their performances!
THREE NEW FRIENDLY FACES
We’re pleased to introduce three new staff members at the Academy of Music in Grand Rapids and Jenison Academy of Music! Stephanie (top photo), who came to us from the Joffrey Ballet Academy in Chicago, will eventually manage the Jenison location. Diane (bottom left), joined us after working 20 years in the Kids Zone at the YMCA, and will mostly work at the Grand Rapids desk. Julie (bottom right), is a musician with banking and other office management positions. She will eventually work the desk at the Jenison location! They are all excited for the opportunity to work in such a positive environment with our amazing students and families!

MUSICAL LADDER CELEBRATIONS
Congratulations to everyone who continues reaching their musical goals and keeps climbing higher on the Musical Ladder!
STUDENT SPOTLIGHT
Meet Kaleb! Kaleb has been taking guitar lessons at the Academy for about a year, and his favorite musicians include the Jonas Brothers and Justin Bieber. Outside of music, Kaleb also enjoys hockey, football, and basketball, and his favorite food is sushi! If Kaleb could travel anywhere in the world, he would go to London, and he love monkeys. So far, Kaleb has loved learning about music notes and how to play “Shenandoah.” His advice to other students is to practice and work hard.
